Jules72 If any of you haven’t read Into Thin Air, you should… incredible story and one of my favourite books of all time
Jules72 Eyes Wide Shut…Stanley Kubrick film about a couple (Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman) toying with infidelity…. complete and utter pretentious nonsense - Kubrick’s worst film? 5/10
jonattonyeah Jules72 Eyes Wide Shut Love that film. It doesn’t make much sense but I like how it looks. The vibe, feel, and look of a film can be enough for me even if the plot is lacking.
Phil-McRackin The Brood. Early Cronenberg film and essentially his version of Kramer vs Kramer following a messy divorce he went through. Oliver Reed scenery chewing and freaky killer kids. It’s no The Fly….or Videodrome…or Scanners.but still has it’s moments.
Dan I’m gonna watch Barton Fink again after many years. Along with Blood Simple there some of my favourite Coen Brothers material. Hold tight for etc etc ….
alistair jonattonyeah Dead Calm and EWS confirmed my Nicole Kidman crush. The dream sequence with her and the naval office is more erotic than any of the party/orgy scenes
Jules72 jonattonyeah whatever you think of the film, the quandary of monogamy vs polyamory vs occasional sex outside a long term relationship is pretty interesting.. despite what all our institutions tell us, our biology doesn’t agree
Dan Just watched the last Christian Bale Batman film…………what a load of bollocks. Not even Nolan can save this stinker.
Millsy I remember a while back on the Bedrock board some looser describing the Nolan Batman movies as the best films ever made. Someone like Strudders iirc. Christ. Lol
Along_the_Wire Sound of Metal - a surprisingly excellent film on Amazon Prime. Superbly acted by Riz Ahmed. Thankfully, very little heavy metal. A solid 8/10
Along_the_Wire Run on Netflix. 88% on RT, thought I’d give it a go. An absolute fucking stinker - a very, very poor man’s misery. Absolutes tripe. ⅒
