LT42 11 year olds grappling with their periods. Jesus fucking christ, has anyone watched any decent movies lately?
Wally Asteroid City - if you like WA movies, you’ll enjoy this. If you don’t you’ll hate it. Giving it a 7 as it’s not quite what you’d expect and I think I need to watch it again when it comes out on streaming as it’s got a meta thing within a thing going on that I don’t think my hungover to fuck brain took in. Probs much better on second viewing. 7 meteorite craters / 10
Mad_Cyril Wally Got my eye on this, though can’t be arsed if I’m going to have to explain it all to her indoors
Wally Dubman Nope. But then again what is? That’s WA’s peak for me. Better than French Dispatch, defo not as good as GBH (and it’s different - I was expecting a comedy in the same style but this is quite dour)
Dubman Wally I think I’ll wait until I can stream it online. Such a shame Wes has gone downhill. Isle of Dogs was also a cracking film
Amps Homegrove When your premise is so weak you have to fill your trailer with fan service to another character, you know it’s gonna be pure gash.
Jules72 Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny…if my 83 year old dad is anything to go by, there’s no way I can believe in a eighty year old Harrison Ford defying ageing like this. The jokes are weak and the Nazi thing getting tired. It’s reasonably entertaining, but has nowhere near the same impact as the first couple of Indian Jones films. 5/10
Homegrove Jules72 worse or better than Crystal Skull? A movie I’ve not watched since. Wife and I decided to skip this one in the theatres, it’ll be on SkyShowtime in six months.
Amps Homegrove Wife and I decided to skip this one in the theatres Well done, consider doing this with more films.
Jules72 Homegrove people saying not as bad as that…though don’t think I ever watched it… Seems all the reviews are underwhelming- wouldn’t bother unless the kids desperate
Wally Kermode liked Indy Jones. Still on the fence about it. Dune Part 2 looking fucking mint. Supposed to be a third one based on Dune Messiah which I’m reading at the moment but fuck knows what they’ll do as it’s mental in comparison to the first one.
rhouses Wally Messiah felt a bit campy and pulp, but I enjoyed the whoddunnit aspect to it. Very different from the spiritual sci-fi blend the first captures magnificently. Gets pretty wild at the end, will be a trip to see how they portray it on screen.
