Homegrove alistair Ridley’s done three battle scenes in the same spot, start of Gladiator and Robin Hood (it’s the French castle where King Richard dies) and now the hill where Napoleon directs the battle in Austerlitz. The location is a small forest just south of London. Still apparently showing scars of the Gladiator-battle.
Along_the_Wire Homegrove I’m off to see it on Wednesday - forgot he did Gladiator and Robin Hood - what a pair of fucking awful films they are. And Prometheus. I might cancel
vinnyt77 Homegrove The location is a small forest just south of London. I had no idea about this! Turns out it’s about 5 miles away from where I grew up…
Homegrove Amps Nick Sneddon and I Am Dusted are also fans. I’m a big fan of l watching that movie, it looks amazing. But it has huge problems. Along_the_Wire Gladiator is great, Robin Hood… Again looks amazing, but not very good.
Homegrove Smallman1 the amount of drinks he had before he died was epic. True, it killed him, but still epic. I think the bar in Malta still has the itemized bill framed.
Along_the_Wire Cool Hand Luke - only film I managed on the flight home. Wish I’d picked another one, it wasn’t that good to be honest. Another old film ticked off at least 4/10
Dubman Oppenheimer - Absolutely brilliant from start to finish. Easily the best film I’ve watched in a long while. 9/10 The Long good Friday - A gritty crime caper set in Laandon in the 70’s with Bob Hopkins, Helen mirren. Still good 7.5/10
Mad_Cyril Dubman Oppenheimer - Absolutely brilliant from start to finish. Easily the best film I’ve watched in a long while. 9/10 Did you watch this @ home or in the Cinema Dubbers? Trying to figure if worth putting on the list for home watching or bribing the Mrs to watch out
