C_J I watched Saltburn last night and I agree with previous assessments but I got the I impression that it was calculated plan. Oliver never seemed bothered by anyone’s quirks, behaviours or comments. The way he played into everyone’s personalities (disorders) looked like… he studied for the test and nailed it.
The parallels with The Talented Mr. Ripley aside, it was enjoyable. I loved the cinematography. The use of PSB’s “Rent” was a particularly enjoyable and bitchy note. Soundtrack was unexpectedly great.
Edit: I was very unaware of Barry Keoghan, and all through the movie I kept entertaining the idea that Oliver was trans and that would be part of the big reveal. Thank goodness for the final scene.
