Apocalypto. Got recommended by a mate who gernerallt has good taste. It barely gets itself to average. 5/10

Mississippi Grind (2015)
Ryan Reynolds, Ben Mendelsohn & Sienna Miller in a road-trip-cum-odd-couple buddy-movie based around gambling.
Not great but not bad either. Meh.

I loved all of it. The oral sex joke. The massacre. The Jaguar. The speech. The waterfall. The sun god. The themes of family vs religion/ the state.

C_J It started off well, definitely, but the minute he escaped certain death due to a total eclipse, it lost me. Then being chased by men that could kill a running man 100m away with spears and bows and arrows suddenly unable to hit a barn door from 10m. I don’t mind suspending belief, but when it gets worse than a Bond film, I’m out.
Also 5/10 isn’t slagging it off. Average.

I’m gonna watch The American later, it sounds a little risky to me but it could top off a weekend of dire films quite nicely.
The American is excellent. Thank fuck for that. 8/10
Vivarium (2019)
Creepy, freaky little thriller with Jesse Eisenberg & Imogen Poots. Grant will no doubt hate this but it was right up my street.
Go into it knowing as little as possible about it.
