Rate The Last Movie you Watched

The Running Man (1987). Been meaning to watch this since it popped up on Netflix here a month or two ago. Not seen it since the 90s. Some thoughts:

Harold Faltmeyer scored this and Beverly Hills Cop II at the same time, and you can here it.

I can’t believe this movie predated Robocop and was not directed by Paul Verhoeven. Because now it feels like they almost ripped this off with the world building.

Maria Conchito Alonso is a babe in this. Might follow this with Predator 2 which I’ve also not seen since the 90s.

Subzero? Plain zero!

Homegrove probably my favourite Arnie movie, I absolutely love it.

The ending scene when the crowd start chanting ‘Richards, Richards, Richards ’ and the cheesy 80s music starts playing (decent track to be fair) is brilliant.

I was quite disappointed, in Arnies autobiography he spent about two paragraphs on it LOL. So I obviously rate it higher than he does

Oh, and a guy gets buzzsawed in the nuts and he goes soprano in the middle of his screaming. This is almost as good as a comedy as Commando.

Along_the_Wire two completely different things, so different you can ignore the connection. And the book’s not that good either. None of the Bachman-books are, apart from The Long Walk which is a masterpiece. Edgar Wright’s been talking to do a new version, and there is a script, but I don’t think it’s happening. He said he wants to take it more close to the book, but I guess the ending needs to be changed after 9/11. 😂

Homegrove Agree on the Long Walk, but loved Thinner (the best) and The Running Man. Saw The Running Man at the cinema and haven’t seen it since.

Along_the_Wire Thinner and Roadwork were one and done for me. I’ve read Rage a few times, but mostly I think it’s because it’s the only book he’s ever pulled from publication and I have a copy. There were about three school shootings where the perp had the book among his possessions, and King was “yeah I don’t need this.” It’s not that good either.

Actually thought Roadhouse remake was pretty good fun. The Conor McGregor role should have been a mute though.

Phil-McRackin I was surprised watching the trailer to see McGregor putting in what appeared to be an uncharacteristically nuanced and understated performance.
