Watched Miss Me Deadly, a Noir from 1955. I find a lot of these films a bit cheesy and hammy, but this is a good one - really enjoyed it. 8/10

Loved it at the cinema but on second watch it’s absolutely terrible

Shot Caller (2017). An alright gritty prison thriller that keeps going back and forth in the timeline. Not sure how good Jamie Lannister in the lead is, but the supporting cast sure do bring it. Holt McCallany especially.

Homegrove liked this when I saw it. Apparently very close to real prison life as well. Grim.

I wasted two hours on my flight home on this. This is absolute tripe and I blame you and fucking Millsy absolutely for this.

Watched Argyle at the mrs behest. Typical Matthew Vaughn film.

Watchable but not as good as the Kingsmen franchise 7/10

erik I’ve heard that is awful. I was pretty much done with Vaughn after the second Kingsman-movie. The first one’s good though. But he’s done some awful shit after that.

Homegrove Bryce Dallas Howard is terrible but I like Sam Rockwell but not even his constant dancing couple save it.

Saying that I saw Mr Right with him and Anna Kendrick and had no hope of it being decent but it was actually quite funny

Die Hard: With a Vengeance (1995). Blank Check-podcast did an episode on this (they’re doing a McTiernan-run) and I was reminded that it’s been a long time since I’ve seen it. Die Hard 2 might have been directed by a Finn, but this is the superior sequel. I’ve never seen films four and five, and apparently they suck. But this one’s really good. Disney+ has a 4K remaster of it too, which looks awesome.

Watched Metropoliton from 1990 - Woody Allen-esque humour about posh preps from NYC and a narky pauper who’s all over the shop. Excellent film 8/10

Two Villeneuve-announcements last night. He’s next doing predictably Dune Messiah. And this after that. It’s going to be The Road-levels cheery.

Thelma & Louise (1991). Great. Some of the best shots of Ridley’s career in the desert cinematography too, and that man’s been making good looking movies all his career.

Dune pt2 was even better than the first film. I’ve never read the books but judging by the ending I take it there’s going to be another film
