Homegrove Dubman nope. DNA-evidence seems to have cleared Leigh too last I checked. Who Greysmith and the movie point as the killer.
BlainSA Amps The Power of the Dog Pale Blue Eye There’s also The Irishman, which I’ll never watch again with it being so long
rhouses Amps Hold the Dark, The Devil All The Time, The Stranger, All Quiet in the Western Front, The Killer, Mank.
C_J Homegrove Wife and I enjoyed The Bikeriders. Not much plot to it, but she said Austin Butler and Tom Hardy wearing leather jackets and riding motorcycles was plenty enough plot for her. Jodie Comer has a ridiculous accent in the movie, that is apparently 100 % accurate for her character in that time in Illinois, but maybe less accurate would have been better. 40 mins of that accent was enough for me. Definitely too accurate.
C_J In A Violent Nature (2024) Atmospheric, dark, weird, disgusting and slow. I could see people hating this but I thought they got the look and feel bang on and it really worked. 7.5 / 10
Homegrove No Way Out (1987). Kevin Costner and Gene Hackman in a thriller that wasn’t very good, but has one hell of a third act. My heart was actually racing. Shame everything before it was pretty bad. Also, Will Patton’s voice was certainly a choice.
Smallman1 One for this thread - https://www.theguardian.com/film/article/2024/jul/25/brawn-bazookas-and-killer-bots-arnold-schwarzeneggers-finest-films-ranked
BlainSA Smallman1 Yeh, I’ve seen it and it’s typical rage bait. Doesn’t even include Kindergarten Cop.
Along_the_Wire Alcarràs - Spanish - gritty story about stubbornness in the face of reality. A peach farmer doesn’t have rights to his land and is being taken over by a solar panel farm. Enjoyable, but silly in parts. Doesn’t help that I hate peaches. 6.5/10
gcw BlainSA agreed, what a load of bollocks that list is! T2 is prob his best film but I do love The Running Man and watch that more often
BlainSA Predator Terminator Whilst T2 is a good film, it’s John Connor that messes it up for me. Prefer the rawness of the first one.
C_J Dubman Cat Person The Teachers’ Lounge Blood for Dust The Last Stop in Yuma County (not actually seen this yet)
Dubman Along_the_Wire Watched it last year. It’s brilliant. Has there been any decent thrillers in the last few years
