Finally watched There Will Be Blood (2007). Yeah, it’s good. Can’t believe it’s 2 hours and 38 minutes long, it just flew by. Wife didn’t like it, maybe she’ll like it more if I wake her up tomorrow by yelling DRAAAAINAAAGEEE to her face with whiskey breath.

I’ve also still got The Master, Inherent Vice, Phantom Thread and Licorice Pizza unwatched waiting for me. Good times.

Was planning on rewatching The Master as the YT alogirithim randomly brought up some YT vids with ex-scientologists, which referenced The Master. I recall at the time of its release, they were at pains to say that it wasn’t directly about Scientology but clearly was. The guy interviewed seemed to think PTA did it because he was inspired after working with Tom Cruise.

Fun fact about Heat, the best movie ever made and based on real life events - Neill McCauley’s famous line “Do not let yourself get attached to anything you are not willing to walk out on in 30secs flat, if you spot the heat around the corner.” When Neil exits the back of the hotel after killing Waingro and turns and sees Vincent, it is exactly 30secs flat when he turns from Eadie and starts to run towards the airport.

Top notch.

LT42 I’ve seen the movie upwards of ten times, and I still say to myself don’t go after Waingrow Neil when he’s driving to the airport with Edie.

Sorry, but I’ve got to call out bs when I see it. Heat was a massively over hyped average film with some good moments. Doesn’t even reach the top 20 all time.

Homegrove I dunno, I think it’s worth it for the “Look at me” line, it’s the ultimate sacrifice for pure revenge. Also the acting from DeNiro when he’s thinking about it and that slight grin comes over his face. Legendary.
