The Social Network (2010). After breakfast Sunday-movie today. A perfect film, that gets better with every rewatch because you can just marvel at the masterful filmmaking at display, and really get into details when you know the story already.

Biutiful (2010)

Alejandro González Iñárritu. Javier Bardem. Great director, great actor. It’s about a guy with no money, a crazy ex, and two nice kids, just trying to get by in the slums of Barcelona. It features a great cameo by King of Snake. You should watch it.

9/10

    Gladiator 2 (2024)
Went with Mrs Archimedes and watched this in iSense yesterday. It felt like it could have been longer to develop some of the characters a bit more. I would have liked a bit more about the insane twins and I’m still not sure what Denzil’s background was, though that may be me missing stuff from the first one. All in all a decent film. Really enjoyed it.

    7.5 Devil’s breath’s out of 10

Kneecap. Very funny semi fictional biopic of the Irish rap group. Michael Fassbender is excellent and gives it some gravitas and the Trainspotting vibes are obvious. The ‘ amusing bit where they take drugs’ is pretty well worn by now but they are numerous and hilarious here.

rhouses Just watched The Substance. Good fun, if a bit gory. Last 20. mins could of been cut down a bit.

Along_the_Wire I was forced into buying a BluRay off eBay as I’d been keeping an eye out for it for a decade. It’s a very under seen film.

As if you weren’t on the edge of your seat when Hunter chases Paddington and cheering when the Browns arrive just in time to save him.

I tried watching Dogville again as I found it boring the last time I attempted it and gave up after 15 minutes. This time I stuck with it and it’s still shit until about 45mins in, but improves significantly into a wonderful dark story of greed and selfishness in small town USA, a nod to slavery too. Nicole Kidman is excellent in it. The scene is is like a play with a huge stage and the dialogue can be quite clunky as a result, but worth a watch once you get past the early oddness. 8/10

I can’t wait for Titanic 2. When’s that coming out?

I won’t be watching Gladiator II

And the remake of Speak No Evil is absolutely gash as well by the way.
