C_J I’ve been tempted to give it another go, but I keep thinking, “fucking hell this is going to be a slog”. Northman was a beastly watch and I loved the twist at the end as well.

Homegrove gonna watch mullholland drive for maybe the third time? This time I come equipped after a three hour + blank check pod, and two hour-long youtube videos having the explanation spoon fed to me.

Homegrove his arse like a clown’s pocket after Mr Barlow had his way with him

rhouses that’s on the list too, I just jumped ahead because I just really like Lost Highway. I have Blue Velvet and Wild at Heart on the cue next from Lynch.

Blitz (2024). Steve McQueen’s new film was disappointing. You could predict everything that happened in the movie accurately. On AppleTv+ so I guess not a lot of people will watch it anyway.

    Ad Astra (2019)

I was worried this would be a stinker a la ‘Interstellar’ as I hadnt really heard much about it so it felt like it flopped a bit. However, I really enjoyed this - it had a cool vibe to it, some amazing visuals and a decent enough story. It of course goes a bit Hollywood at times but it wasnt too over the top IMO.

Has anyone seen Watcher? What an absolute fucking stinker - the plot is fully known in the first twenty minutes and from there it’s a miracle if you make it to the inevitable end. Shite. ⅒

      The Creator

The world they built with this one was absolutely sensational tbh. It was all rather predictable plot and character-wise but I did really enjoy the Neil Blomkamp/Akira-ness of the aesthetic. A very commendable, digestible sci-fi. 7/10

Millsy that was great to see in the theatre, but I haven’t felt any need to revisit it at home. They did do an amazing job with the visuals with the money they had.

gcw might need to watch this again. Enjoyed this a lot in the theatre. A Heart of Darkness-remake with daddy issues. Visually stunning.

I’ve just seen that You Tube has pretty much the entire Tarkovsky back catalogue for free. I’ve never seen Solaris or Stalker before. Are they worth a watch?

This trailer is great. Hoping the movie is too, but zombies jumped the undead shark years ago.

Stakeout (1987). You know when you were growing up and you had about 10 movies on VHS which you just kept watching on rotation? Well this was one of mine. I bought it on DVD 20+ years ago, and that’s still the only format it’s available as. I watched it for the first time in ten years, and didn’t look too bad on standard definition, which was a nice surprise. The film itself is still great in my opinion. Which maybe coloured by nostalgia, but I stand by it.

Richard Dreyfuss is by all accounts a huge asshole in real life, but he’s got amazing chemistry here with both Emilio Estevez and Madeleine Stowe. The latter is also the hottest any woman has ever been in any movie in this. And manages to sell falling in love with Dreyfuss completely, so she’s obviously a very talented actor too, because that had to be acting. Says anyone who’s ever worked with Dreyfuss.

Homegrove haven’t seen that in a while but watched it loads when it came out. John Badham was solid director.

[unknown] still holds up eh? Watched it quite a few times as a kid. Remember loving the sequel as well, but jeez that’s got a 17% rotten tomato rating.

I hated the sequel when I saw it in theatre when it was released. Never watched it again.
