Watched The Red One earlier. Fairly stupid Xmas action film, but was ok for a Sunday afternoon. 5/10

Then tonight watched La Haine. Not seen this in years but still brilliant 9/10

Red Rooms (2023) 7/10: Pretty good!

Carry On (2024) ⅒: Worst film I’ve seen this year. Just terrible- the script, the CGI, the pained expression of actors who have lost their credibility in the space of 120 mins.

[unknown] haven’t seem La Haine in years. Remember loving it.

[unknown] it’s currently on the channel 4 app

[unknown] Agree re Carry On, what a load of nonsense, trying to be a Die Hard but failing miserably. 2/10.

Wasily Agree re Carry On, what a load of nonsense, trying to be a Die Hard but failing miserably. 2/10.

      My favourite Carry On?

      Carry On Camping.

      The Wicker Man

Edwood Woodwood bowls around a remote island, extolling his moral and ethical principles to folks already living their best life.

      They don’t listen.

Can see why film buffs love it, but can’t say I was overly engaged by it.

Mad_Cyril I have the same reaction as ol’ Edward does at the end of the film (when he sees the wicker man for the first time) at some of the trabbs posted on here.

The Counsellor (2013). It’s a Ridley Scott-film so there’s and extended cut, which I watched because the internet told me this is one of the ones where it’s better. First time watch. Written by Cormac McCarthy, and boy you can tell. So bleak, and everybody talks like in his books, which some actors could handle better than others. Cameron Diaz was the highlight IMO, and Brad Pitt seemed to be having a great time, Michael Fassbender not so much. I expected a dark ending, but I was still surprised how dark it was. This is a marmite-movie judging by what I’ve read of it, I’m in the “it’s good camp.” Many really are not.

Along_the_Wire theatrical cut is on Disney+. I got it too on Blu ray for the extended cut, but it was well over a year ago. Been sitting on it for awhile.

            Great bum too.

Watching The Wicker Man on (digital) 4K was a bit disappointing with one scene, the naked folks at the mini Stonehenge were clearly wearing stockings. Memories ruined basically.
