Along_the_Wire I still regret not listening to CJ and saving the first watch for Christmas, but couldn’t help myself when it released in Feb in the cinemas out here. Top tier movie. Will defo become a classic this time of the year.

Along_the_Wire It’s a very well executed Christmas movie without any significantly novel ideas or direction. In that respect you won’t be getting anything new. Think bits of Dead Poets Society, Scent of a Woman etc. Advice is NOT to swerve.

Wasily really liked it - definite Dead Poet’s Society shizzle. Great Christmas film, might be just a decent film outside of that. It gets a 7/10

Ufff. Anora is a such a good movie. Probably the best this year. Easy 9 on 10. First half was fun, but found the second even better, proper tragicomedy. Lol’d tons. Ending hits aLao imo. Can’t stop thinking about this movie. Tho defo weird seeing Mickey Madison do her thang, after pretty much seeing her grow up in ‘better things’.

Did a Sean Baker marathon of sorts this month, and he’s miles ahead of anyone in this generation. Up there with PTA, Coen Bros, and Quentin in terms of legacy and quality. Red Rocket well worth a watch as well.

carmani i felt like that about tangerine, people shouting over each other and things being relentlessly hectic (but still enjoyed it).

Anora is probably his most accessible film, next to red rocket. Baker isn’t for everyone though, I wouldn’t fault anyone for feeling the way you do about his stuff. There’s just something inherently human in all his movies and that matched with all the colours popping from the cinematography makes them big winners for me. Also the constant ‘alright wtf is going to happen now’ feeling that runs through out.
