The Monkey. It was more of a comedy than I was expected from reading the Stephen King short story when I was 15, and was initially a little disappointed, but it was stupid and funny with plenty of proper LOL moments. 7/10

The Gorge (2025). Anya Taylor Joy and Miles Teller are so charismatic, that they added at least one star to this turd.

So much of this has been done before, the bottom of the gorge was a Last of Us/ Stranger Things-hybrid, and Sigourney Weaver basically did her character in Paul again. Even the score by Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross sounded like stuff they had left over from doing Fincher-movies.

French Connection II (1975)

This was on my watch list before Hackman passed away (I only saw the first movie very recently, which was excellent).

It’s probably an unnecessary sequel but it was still a good film. Hackman had some talent didn’t he?

The action scenes were stilted at times, but the story was good. Best scene was Popeye going cold turkey.

7 out of 10 for me
