New Soderbergh-movie Kimi on HBO Max has a substantial discrepancy in audience and critic-reviews. 58 and 92 in RT, and it got 77 in Metacritic too which is pretty decent. Reddit comments are mostly negative. Always interesting when that happens. The movie is only 90 minutes long, so might check it out tonight.

Homegrove I reckon Lost World is better than A.I. too. Or at least I know which one I would rather watch if I had too.

For the most part I’m okay with the first three Jurassic movies, decent popcorn stuff. The new ones aren’t bad either, it’s just finding out Pratt is a god bothering misogynist, it kills the vibe.

Amps Jurassic Park 3 was alright on a recent rewatch, but no need to see it again either. Also wasn’t done by Spielberg. A.I. would have been great if it had ended before the coda. But as it is I have no real issues with it, but have never rewatched it. Saw it when it came out.

The lost daughter - pure chick flick but very good (except for the old ‘the husband is a useless knacker’ trope although, without spoiling anything, that’s balanced out by the rest of the flick) but not the easiest of watches. Amazing performances by Coleman and Jessie Buckley. Both well deserved oscar nods. Thought Buckley was better tbh. 8 missing dolls / 10.

alistair Agreed. She was an awful person which made it a hard watch. Still a great character study and I think it’s getting plaudids because it wasn’t all ‘aren’t women great and motherhood comes naturally’ like most hollywood shite.

I watched Saturday Night Fever for some reason. First time I’ve ever seen it. Awful film, massively disjointed, and some really awful scenes. 3/10
