Man Bites Dog. French film from 93 - grim, violent, some appalling scenes, and sometimes very funny and stupid. I’ll give it a very solid 8.5/10.

Haven’t seen MBD for a long time…remember it causing a bit of a fuss when it came out. Have you seen Henry: Portait of a Serial Killer?…pretty grimy stuff…not very funny.

The courier - a decent enough, well acted spy story based on real events leading up to the Cuban missile crisis with Dominic Cumberbund. Very ‘Bridge of spies’ except not directed by Spielberg and not give a script once over by the Coen brothers so not as good but still worth a watch if you like the genre. 7.5 suspicious business trips to Moscow / 10

Excellent harmless romp. Thorougly enjoyable and hasn’t really aged at all other than some of the technology. Shall return in a few years time.

Binge watched three films yesterday on the flight to NYC

Woodstock 99 - 8/10. Fun retelling of the disastrous follow up festival with some great concert footage.
Spencer - 7/10 creepy, suffocating film of a Christmas weekend at Sandringham with an excellent performance by a fit Kirsten Stewart as Diana. Timothy Spall worth a mention too
Card Counter - intriguing premise but dull and I was knackered so 5/10

On the list. Schrader is an incredible screenwriter. One of the best to ever do it. His directing is a bit spotty for some but I’m thinking I’ll really enjoy this film. Might want to give it another go when you’re in a better headspace. His films can be complicated in tone on first watches.

Yeah I enjoyed this as well. The overt white male grievance thing was a bit heavy handed but my word what a disaster that was. Excellent footage and I understand the desire to point to a greater narrative rather than just saying it was a mess irrespctive of politics or other societal issues.

Just seen King Richard, very entertaining feel good film with some excellent performances and the tennis scenes are decent too 8/10
