Nothing new content wise, but still well put together, particularly considering it’s a Netflix job. Paints the gloomy dystopia and Rapace delivers her usual tense performance. 7/10

Child’s Play (2019) - watched this for a laugh with very low expectations. Actually wasn’t terrible and it started well. Brings Chucky up to date with todays technology to explain how Chucky came to be that way. Downward trajectory as the film went on, but it’s not the worst thing I’ve seen this year.

I rewatched Zodiac (2007), and I’m starting to come around to the idea that many people seem to have about it. That it might be Fincher’s best movie. The reservoir murder-scene is pretty fucking awful to watch still.

Homegrove Brilliant film. Easily up there with ‘Se7en’ and ‘Fight Club’. The Robert Graysmith books the film is based on are a great read.

Homegrove Zodiac (2007)

Excellent film. But I’m also a Fincher fanatic. Fun fact, I worked at the bar featured in the film when I was like 22. It was an SF Chronicle (the local paper) joint even at that point - happy hour was all writers and editors. Called Morti’s in the film but was actually called The Chieftain. Now closed unfortunately.

Really enjoyed the one shot kitchen drama Boiling Point. Talk about a stressful working environment.

Jackass Forever.. wouldn’t really call it a movie as it’s just a collection of mad stunts & pranks but still enjoyable to watch. 7 swollen gonads/10

Zodiac is a mint film, absolute class.

However, hasn’t there been some discovery since proving it wasn’t Arthur Leigh Allen and that it’s entirely possible the read Zodiac killer (who’s now passed away) could have went to see the movie, popcorn and all.

There’s worse places. Spot in Oakland called Merchants has a trough at the bar. People used to just stand up and piss. “Hung out” with a girl who worked there. Busiest shift was her Thursday’s, 6AM to 2PM. All the stevedores, dock workers, and merchants would work the graveyard shift so the morning was their happy hour. That and all the local alcoholics. Load of degenerates. Now THAT is a dive. The Chieftain was tame in comparison.

jonattonyeah sounds like The Chancery in Dublin. Was a regular rollover haunt in my 20’s. Rough as a dog’s arsehole.
