Fresh (2022) Disney+

Daisy Edgar-Jones is so cute and watchable!”

Your enjoyment of Fresh will likely depend upon the extent to which you concur with the above statement. Personally my appetite for her body (of work) knows no bounds and, consequently, I greatly enjoyed the flavour and texture of this black-comedy rom-thriller. I thought it was clever and slick and engaging and altogether pretty satisfying.

8/10

The Running Man

Nothing like the book, but tons of fun all the same. The general mahogany acting is essentially forgiven due to the high levels of comedy violence and María Conchita Alonso in all manner of spandex action. It also has a ‘what the fuck’ cast of Mick Fleetwood, Jesse Ventura, Dweezil Zappa and Yaphet Kotto, plus, we get an ’I’ll be back’ from Arnold. Could have been bigger than Total Recall if it had more than a tenner budget.

3.5 chainsaws to the nuts out of 5.

Amps it’s a movie you’re sure was done by Verhoeven, but nope, just some dude who’s IMDB is pretty bland otherwise.

I really want to watch Nightmare Alley, but see it’s on Disney Plus, which I don’t subscribe to

What other decent films / series are on there to make it worth subscribing to? I thought it was all kids shite and Star Wars series

Just pay for one month mate - £7.99. It’s well worth it just for that.

C_J any recommendations outside the Star Wars/comic book/fantasy stuff?

With Disney +, just find some sap in your friends group who pays full whack and get their username and password. They allow loads of devices and users per account. Bish bash bosh! The perfect crime.

With the Fox back catalogue Disney has a pretty sizeable collection of older movies.

Disney has also now added the black and white-version of Nightmare Alley. It’s in the extras when you click on the movie. A bit soon for me for a rewatch, but though one of you might appreciate that.

Most if not all of the 30 by 30 documentaries, Summer Of Soul, Dopesick is supposed to be decent however ive never seen it – theres shitloads of good quality stuff on there

As if an Alpha like me would subscribe to Disney +

            Absolutely no chance!

            Alpha check.

Have you ever used the term ‘Forever home’, Ed?
