Inside Man (2006)

One of the best genre and bank heist movies ever. This and “25th Hour” are Spike Lee’s finest, IMO. Quite possibly the last movie that could involve a living Nazi. Casting is brilliant. Plot and pacing have some minor flaws. All in all, excellent.

Spike Lee’s - Blackkklansman.

Not bad, probably 7/10. Not quite as strong as it could have been and a bit flakey in places. Got the feeling the message he was trying to send was more important than the actual film and it showed at times. Defo worth a watch though. 👍

Cankles-McJeggings you could hear a needle drop at the movie theatre because of the way he closed the movie. Everyone was completely silent walking out of the theatre.

Watched Black Phone yesterday… new horror film at the cinema… about a bunch of kids that go missing and then the protagonist finds himself in the cellar of the killer…. A good watch - tense and one or two well executed shocks.. 7.5/10

Yeh I’d say it was more of a vehicle to carry that message and a personal crusade of his. If you read into the accuracy of the film there was quite a lot fictionalised which surprised me. Can’t see why he didn’t just keep to the actual facts.

It’s a challenging film. No doubt about that. But some scenes are just mind blowing in their beauty, the performances are excellent, and I love the score. But also a film that’s not for everyone. The tone and pace can be difficult, but I don’t mind a film that asks something from its audience.

Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. This is just the perfect summer movie, and is probably my favorite from Tarantino right now (it varies from time to time). Pitt and DiCaprio are too good in this.

Homegrove Not sure exactly why I like this movie so much, but I do. It’s got a vibe I like. Also, that dog is well fucking trained; I’m betting he left a few sore decoys in his wake.

L.A Confidential. I saw it at the time but had forgotten most of it. Its a pisser that Spacey the deviant has gone under, he was great in this.

Excellent film. Holds up (other than Basinger winning an Oscar which is…odd). Pearce and Crowe are both great. The casting in general was great.

Wow. And here’s people thinking Will Smith was the straw that broke the camel’s back. That Oscar shite has been on the scrapheap for years. Moore is incredible in that movie.

I’ll give the Oscars this….they usually get the nominations right. They just fuck up the winner constantly. And yeah Smith had the fifth best performance in KR. That movie is just alright.
