Well we had streaming issues last night so only got half way through, watching the rest tonight. I actually don’t mind, the first part was so bloody stupid we are intrigued to watch the rest.

I’ve also got a bit of a thing for Kristen Wiig so every cloud….

Interesting that. I can’t keep up with all the different types of TV and viewing possibilities if I’m honest. I’m constantly trying to fiddle with the settings to get the ‘best’ picture, it’s a bloody minefield. OLED v QLED, 4k, HD, Ultra HD etc .

I have a Panasonic 4k TV, yet whenever I see other tvs they always look better. They are probably the exact same and it’s just my brain tricking me

It’s the purity of the signal when you get it home. A 4k is fucking pointless if the TV company are only transmitting 1080.
They look good in showrooms because they are feeding colour saturated 4k from a usb straight into it.
The led stuff is pretty self explanatory if you read up.

Along_the_Wire if you were buying a new TV now, would you a)consider a Samsung and b)go for oled or qled?

Reason I ask is that I’ve been sent a marketing email from Samsung detailing some offers on new tvs. I may be tempted

Along_the_Wire thanks and noted. Just asked a friend who is a bit of a gadget animal and he’s said he’d never buy a Samsung if a Sony or LG were on the table. Suspect I’ll go and actually have a look at a few models

Watched Basic Instinct tonight, first time since the, well, the first time way back in the VHS-days. I was surprised how good it was. The fact that it’s (now) an obvious tribute to Hitchcock sure went over my head when I first saw it as a teenager, I was all in on Sharon Stone’s nipples back then though. I mean it’s no Vertigo, but worth going back to if you’ve not seen it in awhile.

Finally watched Brian and Charles and loved it. Watched it with my lad who said it was good despite there being no swearing or graphic violence
