Jules72 Cankles-McJeggings think resting heart rate isn’t the lowest the can push your heart rate at any given time… my Fitbit had my lowest ever recorded heart rate below 40 (around 38)… think the way these devices calculate it is as a percentile of all your data over the course of a day.

Along_the_Wire Jules72 it’s a factor, but there are loads more that affect resting and max HR - my max is 187, my resting is 44. Anything over 170 is very uncomfortable to me and can’t last long there.
Jules72 Along_the_Wire yep that’s true… my main point though is that hitting 200+ bpm is asking for trouble… and feeling like you want to puke isn’t a good sign either… you need to listen to your body to at least some extent. You can do lots of healthy exercise without endangering yourself

Tbh if I’d have got in my parents weren’t flush enough to send me round the world playing anyway. I remember playing in France in some inter comp and it nearly broke them haha. There was zero support back then so daddy literally had to pay for everything. I recall them even trying to charge for the England tracksuit which my parents refused to cough up for, plus it was daft money and wank anyway. So taking that into consideration they probably had to pick the side based on parental amenability.
