It was alright. It entertained but that’s it.

I think it was a victim of the success of the first one and that they decided to do 2&3 at the same time. It’s a total rehash of the first one story wise but has even less to say that the simplistic moralising of that one for various reasons.

The most interesting things in this are only given lip service and seem to be getting kept for 3 (and 4 and 5) and the actual ‘Avatar’ aspect is completely removed from things. (you could make the same movie with only humans and get the same results)

There’s no denying the technical artistry on screen but I felt detached from it all. Only really got invested in the last hour so some of the events kinda felt like emotional manipulation. Really well done and good looking emotional manipulation but still.

A watered down (pun intended) rehash of the first one. A charitable 7 whales / 10

rhouses Good on you for the effort and I hate to be the one to burst your bubble, but wrist heart rate monitors are not even remotely reliable and there’s no way you went through 750 calories in an hour doing that.

303abuser Do think the calories burn is excessive, but just going by how I feel against the exercise, the heart monitor at least captures the spikes pretty accurately imo. Won’t speak for the actual numbers. By all accounts, the Garmin is what you need if you want pure accuracy.

Jules72 Resting and max heart rates are highly individual. Without knowing what your actual max heart rate is, it’s impossible to say whether or not a specific number is dangerous.

Top comedy caper. I pissed myself at some of the physical comedy of this when I was a nipper, and it’s held up well enough for what it is. Amazed it hasn’t been remade or fully ripped off in some way; it’s based on an old French film, and it has some later Pink Panther vibes about it, but it’s a bit better than than that. Carrie Fisher is back and this time she dials up the MILF action with some sexy Tarzan and Jane lingerie… what more could you ask for? Lori Singer in wrap around shades? Done!

rhouses It’s very excessive, if you burned half that many calories, that would be surprising. Get a chest strap, do some reading on zone 2 training, drop carbs, pick an 8 hour eating window, and do your cardio fasted some of the time. That’ll sort you out in 6 months.

Cankles-McJeggings I agree with the Dermonator - exercise does fuck all other than fine tune what’s already there through food. If you want to lose weight, put less food into the system is the only way to do it.

Source: Me. I lost 15kg at the start of last year. Despite doing half marathons for years, the weight didn’t shift until I changed my diet.

Have you got a squash court near you? Get on one. It’s HiiT and a sport all in one. One decent game and you will puke your ring up and see the difference between high intensity and a walk in the park.

Cankles-McJeggings We have two squash courts, but never interested me as a sport. Played tennis through my childhood, so the plan was to lose a bit of weight with baddy this year, and then move to tennis twice a week.

All these random heart attacks happening to folks my age have me totally spooked, so don’t want to go soo hard that I might die.
