It’s interesting. I went into it thinking “these fucking muppets can’t even figure out how to properly mix audio when I could easily do it myself.”
Coming out of it, it was half that and half “oh yeah, that’s my approach to music.” I value dynamics over loudness and while I mix for mono compatibility in certain ways (mostly the low end), I basically just make sure it doesn’t sound like ass on a phone or laptop, but I really don’t care as it’s meant to be listened to on headphones or a decent sound system.
That said, for what they charge and what they make for these films, forget even mentioning the direct to streaming movies that have no explosions and still don’t have audible dialogue, they need to be better.
