It’s that constant desire to make everything ‘cinematic’. It does my swede in. The producers are doing it and the TV manufacturers are doing it and it’s a con. Same as 3D, you just don’t need it. You don’t need giant sound bars or surround sound, birds reading the news shouldn’t sound like James Earl Jones.

Amps I’m a bit confused as to why they wouldn’t want the audio mixes to translate to different devices, but who am I to argue when I do the same with my music.

Amps Previous complaints aside, I couldn’t deal with tv speakers, they’re awful.

Christian I have two in-ceiling speakers paired with the soundbar and find that’s more than enough. I have subs in my studio and 5.1 system, but that’s mostly just for movies/music when I really want that experience.

We don’t actually have the soundbar on most days because like you say why do I want to watch bluey or Peppa pig like I’m in the cinema? Whole fucking house vibrating. Find it a bit overwhelming for every day use.

Yeh agree with that. The sub would be fucking ridiculous for home use. Unless you live in a mansion or converted warehouse. The sound bar as I said is too much for all day every day use.

Cankles-McJeggings There’s also a very good argument not to put your TV on the wall if you live in a semi, terrace, apartment etc. If you do, you basically turn the partition wall into the skin of a drum.

Cankles-McJeggings ha ha. I live on the outskirts of leeds. when leeds got promoted he had a big service crew flag outside of his house. he now has a hot tub everyday to deal with some ptsd as he was forced into retiring and it appears meatloaf is the music of choice. i keep well clear from him
