C_J Strange Darling 2023 This is an original, subversive movie that you need to go into blind and you kind of need to pay attention and stay with it. It’s so clever that I never even realised how clever it was until I thought about it later. What makes it really great though is the acting. And that ending. 8/10
rhouses C_J dammit this was in the cinema for a couple of weeks, and I swerved it because the movie poster had “last night in soho” vibes.
Dan Along_the_Wire A frustratingly obtuse courtroom musical … Yes, you read that right: courtroom musical. And it’s insufferable. #rottentomatoes
Millsy I would have loved to have sat facing Grant and his Mrs as the credits rolled on Joker 2 and the lights came up in the Odeon. Proper photo for the ages that one I’m sure. 😂
Millsy Wine bottles strewn everywhere. The Mrs sobbing behind her hand as she knows what’s next when they get home. Grant with a face like that chap in the ‘fun’ family photo that did the rounds a few years ago on here.
Smallman1 Millsy Grant with a face like that chap in the ‘fun’ family photo that did the rounds a few years ago on here. Lol! What a photo!
-si- Millsy Wine bottles strewn everywhere. Lol. “Have we got 76 or 78 bottles left? I can’t read my own writing on our tally sheet. You know how much I panic when we run low!!”
Homegrove Went to also see Joker 2 because the wife was adamant about seeing it in theatre. She’s huge fan of the first one. She said she liked this one too, but I don’t believe her. An aggressively bad movie. One star for Lady Gaga who I like as an actor. Half a star for Brendan Gleeson. So 1 ⅕ stars out of 5.
Homegrove Millsy nah, because it felt totally intentional. Like Todd Philips set out to do a bad movie. Also this had to be a money laundering scheme, because there’s no way this cost more than Dune 2 to produce.
Along_the_Wire The Substance. Was a great film, but like a few people have said, could’ve done without the last half hour or so - Jesus that went on and on. I got the point. Didn’t totally ruin it, but nearly. 6/10
