Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga

Sacked it off after 40 mins.

Red Rooms

Boss.

Very tense and was taken through a good range of emotions.

Chop the wrap-up off the end and would be a potential classic (though the fever and medicinal whisky could be clouding judgment).

Mad_Cyril yeah I want to see that one too. I’ll get an Apple TV-rental next week, heard so much good things about it.

Finally got round to watching Mulholland Drive. I think I saw it years ago but actually can’t fully remember as I was likely taking a lot of drugs or something. Anyway, it’s all very Lynch and the final act brings it all together and Watts/Harring are great and very easy on the eye. I’ve heard a few people consider this the best film ever made which is lolZ, but it’s decent enough I suppose.

Millsy thanks man. My wife is very anti-Lynch and despite that I made her watch the diner scene where they went behind it and I told her it’s the scariest thing ever. And she just looked at me like a child who wet his pants.

        I will never recover.

Homegrove lol. Being scared by the homeless isn’t very politically correct mate. They are people too.

          [unknown] They were people too

          Corrected for you mate

Homegrove bought it off the Apple, was decent quality.

Very immersive in the fledgling movie room, really well crafted film.

Need to get on with finishing the room, speakers / amp need installing and I’ve had the interweb re-routed so I can hard wire everything to the router.

A few of my box friends going to the recycling today, will miss them 😂

The American (2010). Anton Corbijn’s hitman movie with George Clooney. I bought a used Blu ray for a fiver. I’d seen it before but it’s been so long I was still dating my now wife. The movie looks amazing, but then again it was shot in Northern Italy by Anton Corbijn so little surprise there. It’s maybe a bit dull, but then again it was influenced by European hitman movies like Le Samurai rather than Jason Bourne.

Homegrove huge nods to Day of The Jackal throughout in terms of pacing. I think it’s an excellent film tbh. The scenes with the female hit ‘person’ NOT MAN are excellent and the setting just makes me want to go back to that part of the world immediately.

            Alien 3 (1992)

As people on here had warned me, this was a stinker.

Some of the worst special effects I’ve seen in a movie for sure. And I’m struggling to think of a casting decision as bad as Brian Glover as the jailer. Baffling.

Will probably give Alien Resurrection a go at some point just to say I’ve watched the whole lot of them. Suspect Ridley Scott and James Cameron watched this and were pissing themselves!

3 shaven headed convicts out of 10

              Gladiator 2

              Utter shite.

              Avoid.

Disappointed in you Dan. As, I suspect, you are too

gcw the random video/docs on YouTube about how the studio fucked over David Fincher for this movie are far more entertaining.

[unknown] Thank god we have people like Dan on the frontline laying down their lives so we don’t have to.
