Knox Goes Away (2023)

This is basically a two hour version of Barry but less funny, and with Michael Keaton and Al Pacino.

I really liked it.

8/10

Sicario (2015)

I enjoyed this. Been done loads of times I guess but still a good view into that world. Fairly grim and shocking at times. Good performances from Blunt, Del Toro and Brolin

gcw was that the first time you’d watched it?

      Have I seen Sicario?

      I haven’t!

Millsy it was yes. One of hundreds of films that always pass me by when released but I eventually get roud to watching years later

gcw Great film. Have you watched Narcos Mexico?

        Sicario is so fucking good.

Homegrove I found it hugely overrated and still do. There’s a couple of memorable scenes, at best.

Is Vicky Cristina Barcelona any cop?

Brutalist. Really liked this film and didn’t feel too long at all which really surprised me. Great acting everywhere. 7/10

Cronos. An early Guillermo del Toro film that’s been remastered. A film about a device that gives eternal life. Feels more like a David Cronenberg film - it’s considered a classic, but I wouldn’t go that far A decent 7/10

Smallman1 Is Vicky Cristina Barcelona any cop?

I think you will like it Ed for the obvious reasons, but for me it’s pretty forgettable. I haven’t enjoyed a Woody Allen since Match Point though, having recent seen Blue Jasmine which got rave reviews and found it also pretty meh, so I’m probably the wrong person to be giving advice on these sorts of movies.

I’ve always wondered how Woody Allen has a career. Forget the stuff he should probably be jailed for, his movies are utter shite.

Along_the_Wire how well it flows considering it’s length is the second most surprising thing about The Brutalist. The most surprising this is it’s budget considering what it looks like.

Along_the_Wire I’ve not seen either. That child groomer is another blind spot in my movie history. My ex made me watch Match Point though, and knowing her taste I expected to hate it but it was pretty good actually.

                vinnyt77 Probably the Sleeper.
