The Northman (2022) - It’s pretty much a Conan remake, but lacks the character. Skarsgard isn’t particularly convincing as a hardman stomping through the village. His character is pretty basic, but even then he doesn’t pull it off. Some otherwise good performances. The fight scenes were woeful in places and you could see the pauses before any physical contact. It was like the fight scenes we did in drama class. Barring that, visually, it was spot on. Overall, thought it was OK, but no chance I’ll watch it again. 6/10
Doesn’t come anywhere close to the greatness of The VVitch or The Lighthouse which I’ll happily watch again, though The Lighthouse does need a bigger gap due to its content lol.
