Nuremberg 2025: 6/10
Russell Crowe goes on trial for doing bad shit.
This is almost good, but there’s too much over-acting. Crowe is superb and carries the movie which is let down by Malek’s gurning shrink and Woodall’s ‘American’ GI. It could’ve been a really tight courtroom drama- it has shades of ‘A few good men’ in places but fails to stick the ending in a logical manner. The parallels with modern day America are also rammed up down the viewer’s throat which feels a bit patronising and this could’ve been done much more subtly. Overall worth a watch just for Crowe alone for which I reckon he’ll get the gong, but as a result everyone else just seems like an NPC.
