Millsy when I can watch it from one of the streaming services I subscribe to for no extra charge. I watched the first, went “I guess that was fun” and didn’t think about it again until the trailer for the sequel was in front of some movie I went to see in the theatres.

It’s worth a watch for Crowe alone. In a way it almost handicaps the movie as everyone else gets subsequently judged by his yardstick. Malek seems to be intermittently having a stroke throughout- I couldn’t work out why his voice was slurring as he often wasn’t drinking in parallel.

Wasily was wondering why they omitted Ribbentrop, that guy was a character. They over dramatised and steered away from facts. For that run time and cast, could have been much darker and grittier. The real life footage of the camps felt gratuitous, didn’t fit the tone of the movie.

Back to the Future Part III (1990). I’m glad they made sure to center one movie in the trilogy on Christopher Lloyd as Doc Emmett Brown. He is absolutely perfect in all three films.

The Tragedy of Macbeth (2021). I’ve by chance watched three different film-adaptions of the Scottish play almost within one calender year. Kurzel set his 2015-version in real Scotland, Kurosawa’s Throne in Blood in 1957 in feodal Japan with samurais in place of knights. Joel Coen here made an amazing looking, but a bit sterile version all on soundstages with sometimes theatrical sets. Kurosawa’s version is the only one of the three not in original Shakespeare, and it’s my favorite. Make of that what you will.
I do have to say Denzel Washington doing Shakespeare is AWESOME.

Train Dreams (2025). If you’re going to make a movie as obviously inspired by the films of Terrence Malick as this one, you better do it as well as this was done. An almost painfully beautiful film.

Bad Boys (1995)

I recall this being one of the biggest films of 1995 but I cant think why, it was absolutely terrible (even more than I expected it to be)

2 hours of Will Smith and Martin Lawrence shouting at each other ……horrific.

Glad that teenage me didnt waste my paper round money back then paying for a cinema ticket for it

gcw wife and I tried to rewatch the first two when the third one was released. We managed to finish the first, but it was a struggle. An hour into the second we gave up when we realized there was still an hour and a half to go.
They are bad.

gcw My film industry mates use it as a measure when meeting someone new at one of their events. “So, Bad Boys… what a film…” and then wait for what they say next lol

LT42 the only thing I have against it is the aspect ratio. It’s 3:2 which can look amazing in a movie theatre, especially of course IMAX, but 99 % of people watching this will do so at home, where 1:78:1 would have worked so much better with a movie as beatiful as this to look at.
