…saw a remaster of ’One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest’ at our local cinema this week. Mainly went because of the dearth of anything new that I actually fancy right now. Don’t think I’ve seen it in its entirety since my 20’s, and did enjoy it. The usual pacing thing with old(er) movies is definitely more apparent on the big screen, but it was worthy of a revisit.
Just kept thinking what a standout actor Nicholson must have felt like at the time, don’t think there was another before him that could have carried off the unpredictable, maniacal edge his character needed. That feels like a style of acting in itself now.
