I don’t know what it is about Gosling that makes me swerve 99% of what he takes part in, I saved that 1% for Bladerunner and that was a mistake on my part.
Maybe its his quasi-mong head or the fact that he completely phones it in. Even in Drive I was hoping he’d get on the base speed just to liven up proceedings but no. (Full marks for the Cobra Kai-esque bomber jacket though)
On that basis I’ll have to give this new one at least 30 minutes as the premise looks good but I’m guessing he’s going to ruin this one too.

LT42 Bladerunner 2049 is outstanding as is Gosling. 10/10 film.

Not sure how I’d missed this, although the whole Brit dystopia theme and imagery are now very familiar from other (newer) films, can see why.

Pretty wild ride with some striking images and plenty of gear changes. Interesting to note it was set in 2027, many of the themes are still at the forefront of our society.

Solid werk.

The Beasts

Spanish film about the goings-on in a remote mountain village.

Somehow badged as drama, thriller, horror by Apple - not sure about the horror but has plenty of tension and drama, is also a beautifully cinematic and engaging piece.

Found myself thinking back to it a lot the day after watching, sign of a quality film imo.

The actors were good at acting too, which is always nice.

8/10 spoiled tomatoes

Along_the_Wire In retrospect, I think it may have been that whole mincing about musical thing he did that got everyone wetting their knickers. That travesty won 47 oscars or something. An absolute disgrace.
