The Running Man (2025) - Loved the original and was interested to see how the new one would pan out. I’d read some reviews on here that it wasn’t great, so I didn’t bother when it came out, but now I had an opportunity to watch it. And what an absolute waste of time it was. I finished it just out of pure rage and disappointment to see how shit it could get. The writing is so weak, the characters have no weight and it’s just… unconvincing. Ben Richards has anger issues? Lol… seemed more like a mild temper. The gameshow host was utterly forgettable and the hunters were laughable, particularly their gimpy leader, McCone (lol). Josh Brolin was decent, however. 3/10 (3 for Brolin).
Sisu: Road to Revenge (2025) - I’ve not seen the first one, but I know the inspiration behind the story anyway and you don’t really need to watch the first one to get what’s going on. There is hardly any dialogue to mess this one up either. It’s just bloody action with deaths in increasingly inventive ways. Doesn’t pretend to be anything else than what it is. Somewhat cathartic after watching The Running Man 2025. 7/10
