C_J One of the worst things i’ve seen this year. And not just film wise. And the year is 2020.

SM001 it was absolutely appalling wasn’t it

there were a couple of tantalising moments where you thought they might be on to something…. I mean you’ve got at least four or five quality actors in there. You’ve got the whole “Twilight Zone” vibe going on. Lost in the dark and snow. I see potential there.

But no. Just absolute, total, garbage.

Ron Howard’s been in a slump as a director for something like a decade now. When Solo is the best thing you’ve done… Oh boy.

C_J Great cast. Good director. I suspect the girlfriend is just a figment of his imagination and of a life he dreams of. He’s the janitor in the school he once attended as a pupil. The girl was a class mate he longed for but never had the courage to approach.

Or some bollix like that. A hint of exposition or conceit would have gone a long way.

Shame as I think he’s an excellent actor. Great in Friday Night Lights, Breaking Bad, and that Black Mirror space one. He’s not John C Reilly or Philip Seymore Hoffman by any stretch, but could do some of the roles they had, to my mind.
