vinnyt77 After Wally’s Captain America Winter Soldier recommendation, a pint isn’t anywhere near enough compensation
Along_the_Wire Maybe we can choose a film, and you can let us know how many pints it would take to have you watch and review it? Obvs, there’ll be a quiz at the end of each film to make sure you’ve actually watched the bastard thing…
Along_the_Wire it’s the best MCU film, but recommending it to you is just the worst case of reading the crowd wrong. 😂
Along_the_Wire You fackin’ loved it ya slaaaaaaagggggg 😉
Along_the_Wire lol! Reg
vinnyt77 I’m game, but it has to be something you really, really like, that you think I’ll hate - ideally no comic shit.
Along_the_Wire well that rules out Wild Mountain Thyme. I doubt I think it’s great.
Homegrove It was fucking awful - it reminded me of @Millsy posting the key story lines for a comic book film - impending peril, countdown clock etc
OK, Nomadland was really fucking good.
I thought Palm Springs proper was excellent. Obviously silly, but was very, very funny - haven’t laughed so much at a stupid film for ages. 7/10
Along_the_Wire yeah… agree… very entertaining film that … the board Palm Spring haters are back in the minority
Tom Clancy’s Without Remorse: 4/10. Action subpar. You know the twist the minute Guy Pearce rocks up.
Wasily Christ man…. what you doing watching such rubbish?! You’ve been relegated to Wally from Grant level
Mortal Kombat 2021: 2/10. Terrible, but not so terrible you can enjoy it.
Nomadland - really good. Although I think it could have lent into the (US) crippling capitalism and non-existent welfare systems that produces some of those nomads a bit more. It’s a bit sad Amazon got off so light in return for allowing filming at one of their centres for example. 9/10
Nomadland is a beautiful elegy. So much left unspoken. Stunning cinematography too
Yeah really enjoyed Nomadland. Cinematography is excellent. Not really a Saturday night movie though!
War Of The Worlds…. Spielberg version 2005.
The boy is studying it at school.
Still a decent film.
Dan Yeah watched that recently again, the first half hour is excellent
Jules72 Christ man…. what you doing watching such rubbish?! You’ve been relegated to Wally from Grant level
There was a dearth of board mixes mid last week.
Jules72 cut him some slack, the director did Suburra, the Gomorrah TV series and ZeroZeroZero so it had potential…haven’t seen a good review yet though.
Nomadland. A brilliant thought-provoking film that left me quite emotional at the end. 9/10
Dubman Fern and Bob’s confessional conversation about coping with loss and grief was really emotional
