People aren’t tired of multiverse flicks or superhero movies. They are tired of crap superhero movies. Guardians 3 did just fine because it was a good flick.

The good news is that Marvel have <checks notes> ‘The Marvels’ coming up later this year…..… oh.

Are You There God? It’s Me, Margaret…. Didn’t expect to enjoy this as much as I did, particularly given it’s about an eleven year old grappling with stuff like her first period. But there are some genuinely funny bits in this film… well worth your time, even if you don’t find the theme appealing…. 8/10

Asteroid City - if you like WA movies, you’ll enjoy this. If you don’t you’ll hate it. Giving it a 7 as it’s not quite what you’d expect and I think I need to watch it again when it comes out on streaming as it’s got a meta thing within a thing going on that I don’t think my hungover to fuck brain took in. Probs much better on second viewing. 7 meteorite craters / 10

Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny…if my 83 year old dad is anything to go by, there’s no way I can believe in a eighty year old Harrison Ford defying ageing like this. The jokes are weak and the Nazi thing getting tired. It’s reasonably entertaining, but has nowhere near the same impact as the first couple of Indian Jones films. 5/10
