The best Alien is the first one - how can that be up for discussion. I used to love Aliens too, but it looks a little silly and stereotypical now

Along_the_Wire Not as bad as Predator 2 which is comical.

Aliens in it’s day was the nuts.

Always thought Statham was a bit of a icon for the gay community.

I’ve always thought Prometheus promised so much, but was a glorious opportunity missed by Ridley Scott. Cinematically brilliant, big budget, then somebody hit the Hollywood button and it went all Star Trek.

Dan Nick Sneddon and I Am Dusted are known apologists for that movie. I enjoy it for the visuals.

Bullet Train should have been direkt in meiner Straße as they say; I like Brad Pitt, I like trains, I like films where the protagonists are trapped or confined in some way and I like Japan.

        Fucking hated it.

        Infinity Pool
Another bonkers film just like Midsommar but not as good. 6.5/10

Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny

A load of old tripe. Thought Harrison was better than this. Although the facial technology was well done, the other CGI was very poor

gcw I’d like to watch it but the one before it was utter dog shit. He looked like relic in that film ffs.

          Talk to Me (2023)

Much hyped Aussie supernatural teen horror from a couple of YouTubers. First half is decent, some good moments. Second half is poor and suffers from a lack of coherent narrative.

          6/10

          Following

Thought the mixed sequencing worked really well. Loved the way it was shot too.

Felt the ending was telegraphed a little bit early, but only a minor complaint and not so bad as to ruin the film.

          7/10

          A Bronx Tale (1993)

A semi-mob film set in the 1960s. All the usual mob/Mafia cliches in here, but done very well IMO. De Niro solid as always as the dad trying to keep his son on the straight and narrow. Would recommend - an 8/10

            A History of Violence (2005)

I thought this would be better than it was. I couldn’t quite get invested in the characters and thought the story changed a bit too quickly part way through. Surprised that William Hurt was nominated for the Oscar for this as he was in it for about 10 minutes?

Anyway…..not the worst film I’ve seen but only a 6/10
