Dubman Nice. Sounds like an old Peanut Butter Wolf record.

It all knits together really well. One for the headphones I reckon

Henry About time you shared it, I was about to if you weren’t. Gave it a listen on headphones last week, sounds warm, really wide and full in places too.

Glad to see you put something out again, time for an album soon?

303abuser Cheers! Always appreciate the feedback from your good self.
Had these tracks for a while so thought I should finish them before moving on to something else.
Bought myself a Digitakt II a few months back and been using that with the Syntakt. Not sure where I got that idea from? As you know it’s a completely different way of working and so easy to get tracks together. The only bottle neck is getting them into Ableton to finish them off.
An album? Not sure about that yet. Probably got enough bits and bobs to get a fair few tracks together. Would like to get something done early next year. But it took me a few years to get an EP together so…

Henry Haha perfect, you’re now as hooked on elektron as I am. How do you like the combination? Almost everything I’ve done this year started with those two boxes. Next month I’m going to do some rewiring to get my other gear involved again.

Individually tracking out is a pain in the ass, but I’m getting used to it. I imagine stereo sampling on the DT2 is pretty amazing. I’ve been thinking about how to write in ableton, send the audio to the DT for resampling, then back into the box.

And yes, put an album together, it’s not easy, but feels pretty cool when you look back and realize you did it.

Yeah the Elektron gear is really good. Not tried sampling on the Digitakt. I have shit loads of melodies that I need to convert to samples in Ableton and Export out to the Digitakt. But as you know it takes a lot of effort to go back and forth. The Digitakt is great. But one thing it doesn’t seem to do well is time stretch samples without artefacts. Well not as well as Ableton does. So takes a bit more planning working with similar BPMs.
Using both boxes I am coming up with stuff that I would never have done using Ableton.
I am looking at getting a decent external synth connect up but still in the market. Would love it if Elektron released a new synth. I did look at getting a Digitone. But not really looking for an FM synth and want something more recently released.

Hardware seem to be the future after all. Only took me a couple of decades to realise it.

Time stretching is one thing it doesn’t do and probably won’t. I assume the hardware is capable, but they don’t want to cannibalize the octatrack. I love throwing long chord samples in and randomly chopping them with lfos. Half the time I stumble into interesting textures and grooves that way.

If you’re looking for a synth, see if you can find a used A4. You can pick them up relatively cheap and it’s so deep. Makes the digi boxes feel surface level.
