Smothered in heinz tomato ketchup no doubt. Ed doesn’t like veg so mummy heats him a wee bowl of baked beans in the microwave to put on the side of his plate. Can’t have the beans on the plate as he goes ape shit if the sauce touches his roast beef.

Kumquat Agreed. I actually use cold butter, but the result is pretty much the same. Mate of mine runs a Michelin starred restaurant in London. The ingredients for his mashed potato recipe:

Potatoes (1kg)
Water (2 litres)
Salt (49g)
Unsalted butter (750g)

Outrageously good.

The first time I cooked a turkey I somehow managed to cook it upside down (breast to the bottom of the pan). I was mortified by the whole situation and it put me right off my lunch. However, it turned out to be the best culinary faux pas I’d ever made because it was the moistest turkey I’d eaten. I now always cook the bird upside down and turn it over for the last 45 minutes to brown. It never fails.
