Dubman Millsy That’s a no brainer if you can afford it. Will you’re cycling be mainly on the road or off road.
Millsy Dubman bit of both. Thinking of razzing it up around the purbecks and Dorset coast at the weekends once in a while. Just like the feel of spandex if I’m being honest
Mad_Cyril Millsy Disappointing website. Clothes pics only in the women’s section. What’s all that about?!
RichM Along_the_Wire is a gravel bike a better version of a hybrid? I’m after a bike to just cycle around the countryside a bit at weekends and the odd journey to the station when heading into London. Therefore don’t need anything expensive
Along_the_Wire RichM A gravel bike is nearer to a road bike so will be faster in the road than a hybrid. You have racing handlebars on it too. I’d take a gravel bike over a hybrid, but it’s the trendy choice too
mono-stereo I bought myself a gravel bike a couple of year back. I ended up flogging it as I found it too compromised for off road work. “Master of nothing” basically. I would just go for one of each if that’s your thing.
Dubman mono-stereo The older you get the more comfort you want off road. A 29″ hardtail would be my choice if doing both.
Mad_Cyril Along_the_Wire What about muddy roads, roads full of potholes and roads with a steep gradient?
