Hursty Still really enjoying this tour, a propet scrap going on, unlike the snoozefest froome years.
It needs to be closer really

Yeah its been a great watch this year. Would’ve been nice to see Cavendish give Van Aert a square go as the Belgian has pissed all over the competition to be fair.
Think you’re right about Jonas, Grant. He’s looking steely eyed and his team, although light, is doing some job. Pogacar looks isolated and I can’t see him clawing back that time unless he downs some Grade A Pink Champagne and does an average of 90kmh over the next 2 days, or Jonas falls off a bridge.
At the moment its hard to see Pog getting too much time back on the climbs, but you never know. I do see him taking time back in the TT, but not 2 and half mins.
Pogacar does look very comfortable though. If Jumbo slam it at the front, they could overcook Vinegeraad - Hautecam tomorrow could destroy the GC
I just realised today, Pogacar’s side to side head movement on the bike when he’s out of the saddle really irritates me. He looks like a dickhead. Sorry, that is all.
LT42 worse is that riders copy him and even the average chopper on British roads
Ok, today is the day Pogacar comes to the fore, has to be. I’m not a gambling man but if I was I’d say Jonas is going to skin him. He has the mental edge right now.
WTF was that press motorbike thinking?
Absolutely ridiculous, Bauer was FEWMIN, rightly so.
Looked like both the press and Bauer weren’t expecting the UAE car to brake so quickly for the crash in front, bad timing
Just perusing the internets I came across this.
In 2009, Armstrong invested $100,000 into venture capital firm Lowercase Capital, which subsequently bought an early stake in Uber, among other investments. In 2019, Uber achieved an IPO of $82 billion and earned Armstrong an estimated $20-$30 million.
Scenes! Vingegaard is a hero. Never seen anything like that in sport.
I suppose he doesn’t want to win in those circumstances but still.
Just before Van Aert accelerated Pogacar had a big grimace on his face, I was wondering if he was shot. Visma with another blinder today.
LT42 Pogacar to win today, but no gap - all vinegeraad has to do is mark just him and he definitely has that in his locker. Wouldn’t mind be wrong, but Pogacar needs to get the gap down to under a minute and have the TT of his life (which he is actually known for). I want to see a close battle - after today, there is only the TT
I’m watching delayed this evening
What a race! Well won by Jonas, he was too strong for Tadej this tour.
New tactics required
Along_the_Wire Apols, Granto, I forgot you’re working while I’m laid off on the couch stuffing canapes into my gob. No need for the running commentary tomorrow just in case you’re catching up again.
LT42 all good Vin! The die is cast, but fuck me, WVA?! Gutted he didn’t take the polka dot, but he’s the rider of the Tour for me. Amazing.
Rest of the race is a formality given the gaps and a shame it isn’t close, but it’s been a sensational race up to now.

100%. He’s unbelievable. I think if he really wanted to he could win every stage.
Interesting that it’s seemingly changed from being about team support to being more about individual riders now. Like when I used to watch Evans, Froome, Wiggins, and prior to that Contador was it, It was all driven by team tactics. So what changed exactly? I’m not that genned up on it recently due to kids, but teams definitely don’t seem to drive it like they did. That’s why sky were always so formidable.
Cankles-McJeggings I honestly think Pogacar changed it - when he first won the Tour he had a really shit team and he just followed the wheels of teams driving the pace and attacked from there. The bigger teams also seem to have multiple leaders these days, which was stupid in my view, but look at Jumbo - it’s done them proud. I think Ineos need to get themselves a hybrid sprinter like WVA or VDP who can be a workhorse too - replace Ganna with him.
Not many of them about though is there? How many can afford to pay pog like wages of 6 mil a year ?
Quintana has never done it either has he? I remember when he first broke onto the scene with Movistar was it? And everyone saying this guy is born and bred mountains and is a sure winner one day and he has never realised it. Probably never will now either. Didn’t see Nibili either this year, he usually fucks it up on the Giro. Is that what happened again? Or is he just old now?
