RichM Looks alright that to be fair. Dunno about how useful it would be on a 50mile ride - certainly wouldn’t really want to do something particularly hilly. Great for commutes and the like - the internal gearing will massively help in terms of minimal maintenance

Along_the_Wire I did the ride london 46 at 20 mph (which included a stop half way to fill up water bottle and munch a flapjack) the last time it was on and I was hammering it on the way in swapping on / off with some very speedy groups - which was great fun. I’ve done the 100 as well (very slowly) and 25 mph is superhuman. I’d done my back in at Glastonbury a month or so before and was proper suffering when I did it…

A decent bike does make a massive difference. Reckon I can go about 10% quicker on my systemsix (hi mod carbon, proper aero) vs my much older scott addict, even on semi decent wheels on the scott. And groups make a massive difference.

Box hill is lovely. Just a nice easy 5% incline. Gonna do Alpe D’Huez tonight on Rouvy. Absolkutely loving Rouvy.

Along_the_Wire cheers, the likelihood of a 50 miler is prob once a year with mates, so not too fussed on that side. Just means I will be twice as slow as everyone else, but it’s all about the booze up at the end anyway!!

benson can’t stand indoor training. Too hot and it just seems so much harder - I find it difficult to get the same wattage. I go out in all weather and much prefer it

So I take it everyone is not surprised the ex Team Sky doctor has been found guilty of peddling performance enhancing drugs to the ‘‘cleanest team in the Peloton’ lol

It’s been a cracking classics season - shame about Paris-Roubaix mind, that’s always a belter. Giro starts Saturday - I know most people hate cycling, but for me with three Grand Tours coming up, it’s like 3 world cups every year - fucking love it.

        Great bit-sized preview:

Dubman done BPW a few times with my bro, we just do vanping though

yeah, indoor trainers are shite, bought my turbo 2 years ago and have used it once…… i’d rather be out in the elements than inside on a turbo…..

That’s sounds like a great idea. Saying that my van is full of tools. Maybe I could find some B&B’s and get some trail maps

Dubman we got caught in bad weather one time and just usedAirbnb……. most Airbnb’s in that area are bike friendly too.

Know the feeling, mine’s full of tools too, Ali has a camper so we use mine as a bike store and sleep in his usually.

I haven’t got a garage either to unload my tools.

Been looking at mini off road/e-bikes recently. They look like a right laugh. Thinking about pulling the trigger on a SUPER73-RX in particular. Any ridden one?
