Kells77 JonQPublik You are super talented 🙂 Really glad you decided to share. These are great! Where is your gallery btw?
Mad_Cyril Great these Jon, easy to get lost in staring at (not sure if that makes sense!). Particularly like Sunflowers. Thanks for sharing
-si- Like the regatta and sunflowers ones myself. Fair play for posting those up, takes a bit of guts to bare your soul like that…
SM001 I’ve a couple of friends who are artists but i’m know expert by any stretch. But these are bloody good. Really like them. Great work, Jon!
zackster These are all rad man. Remind me of the paintings James T Cotton, detroit techno dj producer and Ghostly artist, does. Really like them. 👍🏼
JonQPublik Thanks y’all. 🙂 Oddly enough, I sold a painting last week. Been a while since I could say that. Didn’t expect to sell anything during the pandemic, especially since it was probably the darkest painting I had at the gallery.
JonQPublik SM001 Midnight Rain, 2019 Mixed media on canvas It was difficult to photograph. It’s highly glossy. The metallic hues change subtly if you move left to right or otherways. Probably 60-80 layers of media altogether…some of the black appears to float above the others if you view it up close.
baggers44 JonQPublik this is very dub techno - love all this - turneresque , diffuse, spectral, miserablism - defo interested in having one
JonQPublik 303abuser Acrylic paints, inks, and assorted mediums. I work with alcohol inks, but they’re noxious and better suited to well ventilated environments. And they stain worse than anything I’ve ever used. Yesterday I convinced myself that I could get away without wearing gloves. Big mistake. My hands looked like I masturbated and murdered a smurf.
303abuser JonQPublik haha lesson learned. i love all the layers and textures, it’s kind of like my approach to music. this seems like another hobby i need to take up at some point. my dad was an art teacher, but i inherited absolutely none of his talent so it’ll be an uphill battle.
JonQPublik Kells77 Asheville, NC https://fromhereandfar.com/ @303abuser Definitely like music production.
