bosstrabs Im not slapping down Wally. I hadn’t seen that graph until he posted it. I’m going with the cockpit struggle for now, very unusual for a plane to dive like that due to engine or hydraulic failure, especially feom cruise altitude.
I studied history and warfare, Dave and I’ve been an aviation enthusiast since my cousin brought me to his ATC tower in ’82. Its about all I know, hence my non participation in threads I know nothing about. 🤷‍♂️

Millsy I simulated the scenario last night. Just as the missus was handing me a cup of tea I clubbed her and sent the plane into a nosedive. She fought back gallantly as we both grappled for the controls, momentarily lifting the nose (see Wally) but ultimately she passed out from blunt force trauma and I crashed the plane into the mountain. An extreme way to test this out but alas we have the answer. I’ll be living in a hotel until the cops find me.

Smallman1 I’m not even going to pretend I have any knowledge of the metal state of someone suicidal who also decides to take out a plane full of people with them but I would suggest that they are probably past the ’should I or shouldn’t I?' stage.

Yeah I also tried on my overclocked PC on MSFS. You literally have to actively attempt to dive. That makes me think it can’t be a system error?

LT42 as a pilot who flies by the seat of his pants (in his “games” room), all I have are my instincts. When I first saw the flight profile it was obvious something didn’t look right.
