I’m an absolute ignoramus to stuff like this….got a 10 hour flight to Orlando next month. I’m already a very nervous flyer, is there a way I can check in advance what plane I’ll be going on ?
gcw You’ll almost certainly not be flying a 737 max for a 10 hour flight. Depending who you’re flying with you should be able to work out the aircraft type from your e-ticket or somthing like ITA Matrix should tell you.

737 Max’s range in hours is about 8 and a half (just looked it up).
Statistically, flying Boeing or Airbus or Embraer with a Western carrier is still massively safe, safer even than taking a train I think, statistically.
vinnyt77 looks like I’m on a Boeing 777-200 for my flight. I need to avoid all these stories about Boeing!
It should say it in the booking information so you can choose your seat etc.

Flew back from Qatar on a 787 last month. It had big patches of peeling paint on the wing. Some of them went back to bare metal.
Dubman The 787 is a heavy twin engine twin aisle long range widebody aircraft. This is the Boeing 737 Max thread which as you’ll know is a twin‑engine single aisle short to medium range narrow-body aircraft.
Please start a new thread using the correct aircraft model designation and engine manufacturer (i.e Pratt & Whitney, Rolls Royce etc) next time.
