bosstrabs seanc80 Sean, it’s an absolutely impossible waste of time trying to educate this stupid bastard about anything. Far better to just metaphorically slam his head into the Jaded Clubbers workbench every time you pass him.
IndustryStandard My wife works for NHS contact tracing and says its going nuts at the moment. She used to speak to about 1 person an hour a few weeks back, now its more like 4 or 5 an hour. She reckons the UK are trying some sort of “stealth” herd immunity. Sending Uni students back, opening pubs and restaurants up was a dumb move……all the cases she’s getting fall into either Students living on top of each other/being in a pub/restaurant or working in a care home.
jonattonyeah IndustryStandard 4 or 5 an hour? How on Earth? Maybe ’cause it’s the NHS were a lot of information is already stored, but I cannot see 12-15 minutes being enough time for the level of detail we get into. We also have major issues with monolingual Spanish and Chinese (many of whom have poor health literacy), which slows things down considerably. We’re also doing really well. Peaked at 14-17 per/100K/day back in July. Down below 4 now. So the workload could be more manageable.
Hursty Anyone else had unintended benefits of Covid-19, for example not having annoying family visit due to the social distancing rules? Definitely seems to be the case for me anyway, ’We’d really love to visit you, but unfortunately due to the Rule of 6 we can’t’ 🙂
C_J Hursty I got the all time fastest 100-pager on the old board out of it, which was nice. Every cloud etc.
bosstrabs Smallman’s loss of smell has helped him. Because he lives in Tooting and he hasn’t got a proper roof.
IndustryStandard jonattonyeah Some go to VM. Some haven’t been out too much so the calls last shorter. High level its completely different to the volumes a month ago. They even sent a “call to arms” email blast to get more people to work on Sunday as it was so full on. Happy winter everyone…….
C_J I’ll tell you who’s definitely having a lot of upside out of this. Jonattonyeah. Both professionally and socially. Follow the money, that’s all I’m saying.
jonattonyeah IndustryStandard That makes total sense. We had one dude go through the entire interview, back in like April, who answered every questions with, “I ain’t tellin’ you shit.” Every. Single. Question. For like 30 minutes. I appreciated the commitment.
Smallman1 Whilst everyone else has been petrified of this wretched disease, I’ve been to Vienna, NYC, Chamonix, Amsterdam and Corfu. Or winning as I like to call it.
IndustryStandard Smallman1 How did they let you in here (NYC)? Thought borders were closed for Brits. Only open for US Citz/Green card holders
seanc80 Its not really about being petrified Ed. Its more so about the avoidance of spreading it to others. Anyway sure look. I may as well be talking to the curtain rail. Go and get yourself a nice bun from the kitchen.
Smallman1 If you haven’t had or got Covid, how can you spread it to others? I’m in the high risk category so am extra cautious, have to be. Being an acute asthmatic I need to be super careful and am.
Smallman1 I guess I could be asymptomatic but with my asthma I think I’d show symptoms. And also, you can’t live your life thinking what if I’m asymptomatic, that would be ridiculous.
