303abuser anyone local experts with any experience getting vaccinated, then heading out for a day of drinking? i’m debating getting my second az dose friday morning and going straight to watch england/scotland after. my pharmacist wife thinks it’s a bad idea, but i’d love a second opinion.
Kells77 303abuser Not sure what second jabs of AZ are like, but I did not feel too great after my second shot. Felt fine for a couple hours, then headaches and general ickiness took over. I had the Pfizer shot. Good luck though if you do go through with it….just maybe have a backup plan ready to go.
Along_the_Wire 303abuser I was absolutely fine after my second - fell asleep for a while, but that was as much working from home for the day and having the opportunity. It was absolutely nothing compared to the first one - I was bad for about 24 hours on the first one. Better to go out and then leave if you feel a bit shit than go home only to be absolutely fine.
IndustryStandard Just had my second AZ shot today at 12pm, starting to feel like arse now - so if It was me lagging it would be one hell of a hangover tomorrow. Not sure id be up for risking it TBH, but i’m an old larry lightweight nowadays at the best of times
303abuser IndustryStandard good to know, did the first one knock you on your ass? because i was out for 3 days, hoped the 2nd one wouldn’t be so bad. i’m also a lightweight now, so yeah, maybe a poor idea.
Jules72 IndustryStandard they say that’s a good sign - means your immune system is being stimulated… I didn’t get anything post Moderna first jab - expecting a tough second but bring it on.. normal life for me post second - have fucking had it with covid!!!
303abuser Along_the_Wire this is the answer i was looking for, really hoping it’s not as bad. i’m still considering it, there’s no way i’m missing the game and i like your attitude of not risking feeling good at home.
Phil-McRackin Few chills and achey for a couple of days after the first but ok overall and didn’t really have anything after the 2nd.
Dubman Just had a dead arm after the second jab which only lasted for about half a day. Should we be worried about the Indian variant as I’ve just read an article in the Independent saying that upto 40k could die from it during the summer.
Jules72 Dubman 40k in the U.K.? No way…. the vulnerable are pretty much doubled jabbed and that is highly effective protection (clearly seen in the data)
Dubman Jules72 I don’t believe it either but it was done a worse case scenario by the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine.
Hursty Royal Ascot welcomes 12,000 fans. But business owners and workers in the entertainment/hospitality sector can get fucked https://www.bbc.com/sport/horse-racing/57453878
alistair Hursty Interesting to see the Fabric owner on Newsnight last night. Impossible not to feel sorry for his team who have been mobilised at short notice to curate all these lines ups and speed up arrangements for its reopening for it only to come to a screeching halt again
Along_the_Wire Hursty To be fair, it’s one those events used as an experiment. You have to do a flow test beforehand and then two subsequent PCR tests. Do you know how I know this? I’m off to Ascot in about an hour. I’m one of six in a box for 16 - indoor areas are definitely following the current guidelines.
RichM Hursty plus wembley to host £45k fans at euros final, yet festivals of a smaller capacity can’t go ahead. If someone gets married at an outdoor event can’t they just say it’s a wedding instead?
Smallman1 Sasha at Fabric is off as is Dixon and Ame at Tofte Manor. The coalface was in touching distance!
LT42 They closed down a vaccination centre in Limerick so they could put on a day of horse racing, only in Ireland 😆
LT42 jonattonyeah But when I hear America-bashing I can’t help but wonder, have you all seen your backyard? Haha yeah, the past year has shown us that everywhere is as bad as the States. Fuckin hell, J.
