I would say very low.
But COVID is fucking weird, man. It afflicts people very, very differently. Around here, people of Latino/a/x background have been just crushed; irrespective of financial class, preexisting conditions, or living situation. It’s bizarre. I was for the most part okay, two people I know who tested positive from around the same time had full on pneumonia (one from Guadalajara, the other El Salvador).
They say 40% are asymptomatic globally; here in the Bay I’d say it’s like 60-70%. But the 10% who get it bad, really get it bad. But that said, we had a 106 year old Chinese bint get it a month or so ago and she’s now right as rain.
Could be the amount of the virus one comes in contact with initially (like making out with Wuhan v. walking past Wuhan on the road). Could be prior contact with older SARS viruses which promotes T-cell response. Dunno.
I guess to stop rambling I would say the chance of death is very, very low. But I wouldn’t recommend getting it. My chest is still messed up. 10+ day quarantine is also the worst and messes with your head.
