alistair I’ve said multiple times that it will take time for everywhere in northern europe to see how it goes, which is common sense, rather than just saying “its mild in SA so keep everywhere open, we’re fine.” or the dumb request of “show me the death certificates.”
The evidence doesn’t conclusively exist right now, that’s the point. It’s not even up for debate that the variant is nearly 10 times more transmissable which will put hospitals under pressure because healthcare workers aren’t invincible and can contract the virus leaving systems understaffed which in turn leads to problems that don’t need mentioning. You’re oversimplifying it. Benson is a healthcare worker, it doesn’t make him fucking Nostradamus.
