Funky Many more people are fully vaccinated so as a percentage, that figure is low. The unvaccinated have no excuses.

Mrs had her 3rd Pfizer earlier, certified mutant by now for sure

I am off to Dublin this weekend. As I understand it, I need to complete a passenger locator form online before I fly, and have proof that I am double vaccinated. I’m assuming the NHS app will suffice for that.

Anything else I will need to ensure I don’t get barred from entering? First time travelling since pre covid

    A Thread 👇

You hear the “I’m young and fit so I don’t need jabbed” line quite a lot. I dunno if it’s valid or not but it’s gained a loyal following. On one hand, yes, the old and fat are more vulnerable statistically speaking but there have been plenty of young fit folks who have come a cropper so I’m not sure why you’d take that chance unless you’re both young, fit and the type of guy who likes playing Russian roulette. But hey, let’s keep in mind that for at least a while there the official advice to the young was “we’re currently not recommending the jab cos the risk of Covid for you isn’t enough to offset the risk of the side effects to you.” So I do think reasonable people could be ambivalent, or at least a bit confused, if they are young and healthy.

Because really this is about making the type of complex judgements about risk and probability in the face of uncertainty and incomplete information which the chimp/human brain hasn’t really evolved to deal well with, right? And remember that the modelling and data are all flawed, error ridden and biased too so you can forgive people for reaching different judgments. Or being fucking baffled, frankly. (Even though it all just seems so blindingly obvious to the bon pensants, of course….)

But one common, obvious error would have to be the one that others have pointed out: if there are only five unvaccinated folk in a country, and two of them end up in ICU, you don’t point to the other twenty (out of five million vaccinated cunts) that end up in ICU and say “see told you vaccinations don’t work, there’s ten times as many got sick!!”

I think another valid point is the idea that folk get their two jabs in the summer then six months later when it’s completely worn off they’re whipping out the vax certs and ledging it at the coal face, catching it and infecting every other summervaxxed fucker whilst congratulating themselves on being responsible. Are these people protecting the NHS or not? Is this better than being unvaccinated but staying in your wee bubble? Again, judgement call. Is it better to spread it and gain natural immunity with some protection maybe?

Fuck knows man. Personally I think the stats are pretty clear, the more shit you let the 5G Illuminati pump into your arm the less chance of suffocating to death surrounded by cunts in hazmat suits wishing you’d rocked up and stood in line like all the other sheeple. But it’s true what they say, you can lead a Funky to water but you can’t make it drink.

Maybe the solution is to announce “look guys, if you catch Covid and want access to the nhs, don’t bother ringing an ambulance unless you’ve a) had all three jabs or b) have one of the following three approved reasons for not having it” ?

gcw if you were going to Sasha & Digweed it should not be an issue anymore unfortunately.

I was in a pub yesterday and heard the barwoman say “Do your own research”. I suspect it was a Covid related conversation. Fucking meff

Old-Dutch Perhaps someone simply asked her the ABV of a beer and to cover her own ignorance, she simply blurted that out.

Lol. She was talking to the other barwoman

Yeah I’ve heard the “do your own research” line from a few lockdown skeptics. It’s like, why should we do our own research, we have the totally unbiased and not at all corrupt mass media to do that for us?

          Funky

“The unvaccinated are possibly being way more vigilant hense these figures.” <

The major flaw in this is that by virtue of not being vaccinated, unvaccinated people are doing the exact opposite of what you suggest. If the unvaccinated were truly vigilant, they would have grasped the most basic principle of how to tackle the virus: what I do affects you and what you do affects me. It is not enough to rely on vigilance if you are not doing the most basic thing to protect yourself and the people around you because everyone else has to suffer the consequences of the decisions taken by the unvaccinated. Save for the the very small number of people that legitimately have no option and cannot have the vaccine, not getting vaccinated is an entirely selfish pursuit.

I wasn’t, didn’t know they were there tbh. Just popping over for a pre planned weekend break with some friends, none of whom are into the tunes sadly.
I am aware of the midnight curfew, probably doing me a favour actually after a days drinking!

whatever everyone else has to suffer the consequences of the decisions taken by the unvaccinated

This is not meant to be a provocative response, just trying to make sure I understand properly:

What consequences do you mean? If you mean “unvaccinated people spreading it” how would you respond to the counterpoints that a) the unvaxd are (presumably) more likely to practice social distancing, b) the double jabbed still catch and spread (and are presumably the ones actually keeping this virus in circulation given 80% vax rate and 30k daily cases)?

Or maybe you mean “unvaxd people taking up critical care beds meaning someone else doesn’t get one because of the unvaxd using them out of stupidity”? This point I can’t really find any counter argument to, but I guess you might ask “how much resources have actually been used by those people given the vax rate is so high, and how do you know the unvaxd in hospital were eligible for the vax?”
